Collage of sample charity labels

This 256-page reference volume contains over 600 items from a collection of labels and placards produced in Poland between 1913 and 1924. This was a critical period in Polish history that includes World War I; the Versailles Peace Conference; reestablishment of the Polish state; formation of the borders of the new state through treaty, plebiscite and armed conflict; and the war with the Soviet Union. These labels were produced as mementos or receipts for solicited donations.

The full book is available for download in Adobe Acrobat PDF and ePub (iBooks) format through the links on this page. The book is also in the collection of the Library of Congress under LCCN 2015511020.

The collection of original items is permanently housed in Warsaw at the National Library of Poland (Biblioteka Narodowa). See photos from the official presentation ceremony here.
